…I was looking back over my blog, reflecting on the past two posts, and then reading back over my list of ingredients that I believe go into a health change and realized… there are still some parts I have not shared with you! So if you are just picking up here… I encourage you to read through the past two posts to catch up on the topic at hand…
…Today I share 3 more parts that go into making a health change or reaching a wellness goal. I have already touched on wanting it, knowing why you want it, believing you can reach it, embodying independence, and embracing patience. So today we will go through 3 concrete steps towards healthy change: time, plan, and support (some of my favorite topics!). So let’s get right to it:
- Make the Time. I cannot stress this point enough. In fact, I have done a monthly wellness workshop around it, placed it in a week of my six week course, and write about this all of the time (no pun intended). If you want to make a change in your life, all of the other things you have going on are not going to magically disappear. You are busy for a reason. You have commitments, priorities, loved ones, a job, etc. You have a ton going on. But that is no excuse for being unable to reach a health goal. If you really want it, you can create the space and time for it. It is all about…
- Having a Plan. In order to make a health change or reach a wellness goal you will
have to have some idea of how you want to go about doing so. Again, things will not just magically rearrange themselves to be in line with exactly what you are going for. Thing will align; but only when you are a proactive co-creator. So instead of doing one thing here or there towards the change you want to happen, sporadically trying things now and then, or just haphazardly experiencing it all… you need some sort of organization. You need to create what steps you might take, when you might do them, how you will go about it, etc. You need to have an actual plan in place so that you have a road map towards your destination. - Welcome Support. Those who are making wonderful health changes in their lives are not doing it 100% on their own. People are all here on this planet together. We are all connected to each other. There are resources, networks, experts, and helpers who are along the way there to guide, cheer, and share your experiences with you. No one said you had to reach wellness goals in a vacuum. No one said you had to do it by yourself. I find my greatest successes come those times when I have help and support along my way. Even in my own business, as things start to move forward… it is because I have a beautiful, intelligent, wise, and organized project coordinator who keeps me on track and bounces her excellent ideas off of me. We are doing it together. And I am seeing greater growth and progress than ever before. You do not have to do it all alone!
…So, I am hoping the past few posts are giving you some more ideas of how to go about making a health change. I have one more to share tomorrow with the final points and am excited about these continuations thus far. I am learning and hoping you are learning along with me…
What are you reactions to time? Do you find yourself saying “I don’t have time for…” (your own health goal)? What type of plan do you need to put into place and who can you get to help you along your way?
