Finale for I am Empowered!

…So the previous three posts all had to do with my ingredients for change. What goes into reaching a wellness goal? What has to be in place in order to achieve changes around your health? The previous three posts shared 8 of my ingredients. And today I finish up with the last two…

…I am always in awe when this happens, not really sure why as it keeps happening, but last night I was in a class for the group program I am enrolled in as a “student” and we were talking about clearing blocks that get in the way of our manifesting what we want. We did several exercises around this and one of them is linked to what I am about to write about today. So again… what I see happening in my life is linked to what I come to write about in my blog posts. What a wonderful thing!…

…To be more clear, let me just share with you today’s two last ingredients… and then as I write to them I will uncover more of how it is linked to with the self-work I did last night. So today we speak to: letting the old parts go and feeling the benefits of change…

  • Let go of the “old you”. Sometimes it is hard for us to fully embrace change because we are not ready, willing, or able to let go of our old self. We are comfortable where we are at. We like our lives and our routines. We are scared of what might be ahead. We are unable to grow into our new self. Whatever the reason, us being where we are presently at holds us back from fully changing into what we are becoming. As I mentioned last night in my class, Kathryn from Flowing with Change, led us through several exercises. One of them really hit home from me. I was like “Oh my goodness… that is it! I get it! That is part of what is holding me back!” So without going into too many details, because that would just take too long, I realized that part of my block in growing into a even greater part of my self- has to do with the comfort of my current routine. I am happy with my lifestyle. I like the day-to-day happenings. I have a handle on my wellness. I have a schedule that works. So if I add new things in -which will grow me to a newer and better self- I might shake up some of the patterns I am currently in control of. Very interesting stuff! So in order to be able to fully change, I have to let some of the “old me” go.
  • And our final ingredient (which I think is perfect to be in this last space holder) is Feel the benefits of change. When you can really start to live the experience of your wellness goals, your healthy changes, you realize you want more of them. You are sensing and feeling the benefits. You are loving the energy you have, the joy you feel, or the peace of mind you experience. When you can acknowledge the feelings of the change you really welcome them because they become a part of you. They become comfortable for you. They become your current experience. You want more of them. If you do not feel the benefits you may think to yourself, “Well, nothing is really happening… why am I doing this anyway… this is a waste of time…” So when you really take the time to slow down, become aware of how your changes feel, and embrace the benefits you desire more and more of the healthy feelings. You create more and more likelihood for yourself to change. You enhance the cycle and grow into greater health.

…Well, our time together on this topic has come to an end. I am glad I decided to split the posts up and share all of it with you rather than try to jam it into one long post that nobody would have the time or patience to read through! I learned a lot from each of the posts on my ingredients to change and hope you did as well. In fact, I am learning that so much goes into a health goal that this is why we often need guidance, support, and networks around us. But that is a whole other topic…

What do you have to let go of to allow yourself to fully change? How can you embrace the new healthier you through leaving some of the “old you” behind? When have you taken the time to feel your benefits of your wellness choices and how has that impacted your progress?
